Your first days on campus can be really overwhelming. You have no idea where anything is but are expected to be able to navigate perfectly. The buildings all look alike, the nicknames certainly don't help and don't even get me started on the tunnels. Well, don't worry. We're here to help. after reading this, you'll be able to find your way.

Here is a great map of the river campus:

Some things to keep in mind are:

- DFO (pronounced deefo) is short for Danforth, the dining hall in Susan B Anthony Hall

- Susan B Anthony Hall is shortened to Sue B

- Dougie refers to Douglass Dining

- Wilson Commons is shortened to WilCo

- There are two buildings named Goergan, one is in the engineering quad and the other is the Goergan Athletic Center, or GAC for short. (Most people call the athletic center GAC, not Goergan)

- There are also two Gleasons, one is a library in Rush Rhees, and the other is in the engineering quad.

- University Health Services is abbreviated to UHS

If you don't want to get lost, just walk around campus. Familiarizing yourself with the buildings, the quads, and the tunnels can only help in the long run. Whenever you have free time, just go for a walk. You never know what you'll see or who you'll see.
