First time doing your laundry on your own? Well, no worries! Here are some quick tips bound to help you with the dos-and-don'ts of laundry.

1. Invest In Laundry Detergent Pods

Compared to the large detergent bottles, detergent pods prove to be useful as they are much easy to carry.
Furthermore, they are easy to use as you only need to toss 1-2 pods directly into the washer with your clothes.
2. Separate Your Light and Dark Clothing
Be sure to separate your clothes into lights and darks before washing them. Mixing them will result in your favorite clothes turning pink or black. Prevent your light clothing from becoming an unwanted shade by washing different shades of clothing separately.
3. Find a good time to wash your clothes and pick them up.
Early in the school year, visit your school’s laundromat and check to see what times the machines are usually available. You want to find a comfortable time that allows you to load your laundry and pick them up.

Don’t leave your clothes too long in the machines because other students will take your clothes out if you do. Don't aim to be away for hours from the laundromat when washing your clothes. Schedule 1-2 hours sometime during the week so that you have ample time to complete your laundry.
There are apps, such as the My Laundry App, that notify you when your laundry is completed. Some schools have specific apps that let students know when a particular machine on campus is empty or being used.
Hope these tips prove useful, and good luck with your laundry!
