F is for Friends

University can look pretty scary at times, specially when other people seem to have already come from high school with a friend group. However you shouldn't worry too much, as a first year there are plenty other who are in the same boat as you. Everyone will be awkward and there will be plenty of awkward situations so don't be scared to put yourself out there. Its as easy as going up to someone and greeting them or maybe help out a neighbor as they are moving in.

The easiest ways to make friends during the first couple of days at university is to attend Hall programs that are usually held by the Resident Advisor (RA). At these meetings everyone will be anxious and its a good space to just talk to people, but do listen to what the RA announces before your start chatting away.
