University life can be hard to deal with, especially when it comes to taking tests and completing assignments. Here are some tips to keep in mind about academic-stress.

1. Take Breaks

Remember to always take breaks in between your schedule. Don't try to work constantly because it will lead to mental exhaustion and burn-out. It helps to set timers between assignments so you know when to stop and take a breather. Taking walks always helps to get fresh air.

2. Make Sure to Sleep Properly

You can't study without having enough energy. Aim to get a decent amount of sleep every night. Remember that even a couple hours of sleep is better than none. On days where you are extremely tired, it is beneficial to take 20-30 minute power naps during the day. That way you'd have some brief energy to continue working through the day.

3. Reach Out to Others

If the stress becomes intolerable, it is a good idea to reach out to other people. Whether it be friends or family, try to talk about your worries. Although your workload will not disappear, it's good to know that there are other people who are ready to support you.

When it comes to assignments, it is even better if you speak with your professors. Kind professors will be understanding of your situation, and possibly give you extensions and exceptions on your assignments. It's a good idea to reach out early in these cases.

Remember that stress is normal, and it can be managed. Reach out to the community around you if you ever in need.
